Meeting today’s challenges in the fishing industry
Today’s Wards Cove includes the following operations:
- Alaska Boat Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of
Wards Cove, operates and manages pollock trawlers and crab vessels in
the Bering Sea
- Alyeska Seafoods is a corporation jointly owned by
Wards Cove Packing Company and Maruha Group, a major Japanese
corporation that is one of the largest
seafood companies in the world. The production
facility on Unalaska Island in the Aleutian
Island chain in Alaska processes pollock, cod, and crab.
Other parts of Alyeska Seafoods'
operations include cold storage warehousing, storage for parts and dry
materials, electric power generation, operating cooking/dining
facilities and bunkhouses for on and off-site employee housing.
- General Stores Wards Cove Packing Company’s
six general stores are a welcomed
source of supplies in some of the more remote areas of Alaska The stores are located in three basic areas—Hoonah, Naknek and
Unalaska.
